Wang Liyan, Professor and the Associate Dean. He concurrently serves as the Deputy Director of both the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Microbial Genetic Engineering and the Shenzhen Key Laboratory of Marine Bioresource and Eco-Environmental Science. In 2003, he earned his Ph.D. from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University. Following that, he pursued postdoctoral research at the School of Pharmacy, Nihon University in Japan, the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and North Carolina Central University in the United States. Since 2010, he has been dedicatedly contributing to the College of Life Sciences and Oceanography at Shenzhen University. Currently, he shoulders the teaching responsibilities of undergraduate courses "Fermentation Engineering" and "Biochemical Experiments", and postgraduate course "Molecular Microbiology". His research includes the isolation and green extraction technology of natural products, the isolation and structure identification of microbial secondary metabolites, as well as the in - depth analysis of biosynthetic pathways and regulatory strategies. He has successfully led and managed a series of competitive scientific research initiatives. He has over 50 papers published in academic journals such as ACS Catalysis, Bioresources Technology, and Journal of Biological Chemistry. Additionally, he holds 9 authorized invention patents.
