Dr Chen graduated from Ocean University of China in 2006 with Bachelor Degree in Marine Chemistry. She received her Master Degree in Marine Science from University of South Carolina in 2009 and then Doctoral Degree in Marine Science from University of South Carolina in 2013. Since 2014, Dr Chen has been engaged in teaching and scientific research in the College of Life Science and Oceanography, Shenzhen University, and has been the deputy director of the Department of marine science. Dr Chen has been supported by the National Natural Science Foundation, Natural Science Projects of Guangdong Province, Natural Science Projects of Department of education of Guangdong Province, Science and Innovation Commission of Shenzhen, etc. 8 papers were published in SCI. The main research directions include the screening of heavy metal resistant microorganisms and their metal enrichment characteristics, and the biogeochemical cycle and mechanism of heavy metals in mangrove wetlands
